Staff & Governors

Mrs J Allen

I came to St Wilfrid's as a young teacher and I loved it so much that I decided to stay! I get very excited when a new child starts our school and I can remember teaching their parent.

I have taught every year group in school and have enjoyed all of them, as they each bring different challenges and rewards. My favourite subject is maths and I hope that every child at St Wilfrid's will say, "I love maths!"

In 2014 I completed a degree in Applied Theatre and before starting my PGCE in 2016 I worked as a teaching assistant and ran drama and singing workshops across Yorkshire. I have worked within Early Years for a number of years and I am passionate about promoting independence, curiosity and enthusiasm in the learning environment. In my spare time I love to sing, visit the theatre (I love musical theatre!) and spending time with my family and friends. Mrs C Harland

I returned to educating young children 30 years ago when my youngest child joined St. Wilfrid's nursery which was then situated in the community centre in the church grounds.

Having trained as a nursery nurse and then later completing my Foundation Degree in Early Years I still love my job and working in such a caring special school.

I now have the privilege of seeing the next generation of many families through my care, watching each little person develop and grow into unique individuals.

Teaching Assistants

Miss U Watson

Higher Level Teaching Assistant

I have been lucky enough to be part of the St.Wilfrid's School community for five years. Prior to coming here, I had a background working with autistic children. I also have a degree in Sociology.

I started St. Wilfrid's as a TA when my children joined the Foundation Unit. In 2016, I qualified as a HLTA and this means that as well as supporting classes and running interventions, I can cover short term teacher absence.

The staff are a supportive team here at St.Wilfrid's and it is a joy to see the progress children make here on their journey through the school.

I enjoy cooking and relaxing at home.

Mrs E Barrett

I live in Ripon and my two daughters came to St. Wilfrid's School and enjoyed it very much. I also attended St. Wilfrid's as a child and I returned in 1996 to work as a teaching assistant.

I have worked in all of the classes and it has been a privilege to work with so many children and staff.

Mrs A Bingham

My three children all came to St. Wilfrid's School. I learnt very quickly what a nurturing, caring and special school it is, not only academically but I think most importantly for the caring nature.

So when, ten years ago I came to work here, I very quickly became part of that caring community/family.

I love seeing the triumphs, however big or small. I also love the relationship I feel that I have with the children I work with. It's so nice to see how far they can go and to watch their confidence blossom.

Mrs L Borchard

I have been involved with St Wilfrid's for approximately 15 years as  all of my 5 children attended the school. I started working within the school 6 years ago. Previously I completed a BA hons degree in Political Economy and further completed my PGCSE, during my time teaching at Craven College in Skipton. Before I moved into the teaching profession I worked overseas within France for 5/6 where I managed  children's entertainment for a tour operator. I love  travelling, camping and going cycling and walking with my family. I believe sport is an essential part of life (especially hockey, although my boys will say rugby!) and have promoted this within my own family and throughout St Wilfrids.

Mrs A Bramley

Mrs E O'Donovan

Six years ago I completed Level 2 in Helping in Schools & Level 3 in Special Educational Needs this enabled me to be part of St Wilfrid's. Both my children attended St Wilfrid's then and this was the start of my journey at this school.

My goal is to ensure that children here are supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential in their educational environment.

Outside of school I enjoy spending quality time with my family.

Mrs A Webber

We moved to Ripon as a family in 2012. My two daughters completed their primary education at St Wilfrid’s and I started working here in 2013.

I have the relevant qualifications for the job and I bring enthusiasm and a smile with me to school daily.

The team at St Wilfrid’s school work hard to help your children achieve to their fullest potential and I am proud to be a small part of that team.
