Easter 2020
Dear All,
This is certainly not the Easter we were expecting. Despite the current crisis, I do hope that you manage to have an enjoyable time with your family. I have attached the Easter powerpoint for you to share as we were unable to do so together today. I wonder how many of these songs toy can remember form last year?
With very best wishes form all the staff and governors of St Wilfrid's
Easter Powerpoint Presentation here
In preparation for Easter we have put together a Way of the Cross Bag for each class, which will help you travel through Lent with Jesus, as a family, and stop a while on his journey to death and new life.
In the bag you will find:
Lenten Calendar |
Footprint outlines |
The Easter Story Book |
Class Book for work |
Candle (adult supervision) |
Cork tile (to put candle on) |
Purple cloth |
Palm Cross |
Stick Cross |
Resurrection Cross |
Crown of Thorns |
Stone (from the tomb) |
The bags can be booked out in a similar way to the Travelling Cribs, so if you would like to have the bag in your home for a night, please fill in the booking sheet at the office. Remember to make sure that the bag, and all its contents, is returned to school the next morning, for the next family to enjoy.
We hope that you find the Way of the Cross Bag helpful in familiarising the children with the most important feast in the Church’s year. As I tell the children, if it wasn’t for Easter, Christmas would not be important, because the fact that Jesus rose from the dead at Easter, gives his birth at Christmas more significance.
Each family will receive a copy of the Lenten Calendar for their own use.

Class 4 went up to St Wilfrid’s Church for Mass on Armistice Day. The children researched the names of all the soldiers from the Ripon area and chose a few each, to display and decorate. We found out that the names all appear on the War Memorial in the Spa Gardens.
